To give you just a bit of history and a little more about me... This teaching job is my second career. Before this, I was in advertising and had my own company. Had really no idea what this teaching job would entail. So, when I went to conferences I soaked up the new ideas for the two main programs I taught and how to make them better.

      My first year there was no store and the second year is when we got that started,
along with an advanced Entrepreneur (now labeled Marketing) class.  I'd heard great things
about school stores helping out your program and what it can teach the kids, etc. It's called
our S.B. E. which means a Student-Based Enterprise. Our store is located and attached to
our small classroom. We sell out of the big sliding window in the front of the building and
during lunchtime every day. Our store is our work-based learning lab, where everyone in
the program works in the store a few weeks per year and we have managers who run the
store. It is also affiliated with our CTSO-DECA and they can help as well.

      Profits from our store, help to buy things for the store, to improve it and to improve the
learning environment, we also use profits to help finance trips, charitable offerings and
competition events for the students.

      It's always fun and more than a little bit crazy.

SOME REASON THERE ARE STUDENTS THAT THINK THIS IS SOMETHING THEY TAKE HOME AND KEEP-YIKES!
